Leaving Beginnings Behind (audiodescription)

Looking for work, housing, cigarettes: Denisa, Adéla, Kristýna and Pavla are all confronted with the reality the facility had protected them from. Moving through a maze of challenges, they encounter unknown obstacles, alternating between dead ends and renewed attempts to finish their education and find a place in society. They experience heartbreak, return to their parents, and start their own families. Will they learn from the mistakes that brought them to institutional care, or will they repeat them when they themselves become parents? Building on her relationship with the protagonists of her previous film, Beginnings, the director sensitively presents the pitfalls associated with transitioning from institutional to independent life.
