The climate crisis has not disappeared – even though former Minister of the Environment Petr Macinka once declared it to be over. It has simply been drowned out by wars, economic uncertainty and the daily clashes of politics. What are the consequences of climate change fading from public debate? And who benefits from it?

Filip Titlbach will speak with Daniel Kortus from the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague, who systematically debunks myths and disinformation about climate change on social media under the account Klimatomluva.

The discussion will explore the manipulations and oversimplifications voiced by Czech politicians, why trust in science has become so fragile today, and how it is possible to talk about the climate without moralising or resorting to fear.

It will also ask whether we have reached a point where facts alone are no longer enough – and what a scientist who decides to enter the public sphere can do about it.
